This email is being sent to all DECF users who use our file server.
The file server is experiencing a bad disk. We need to take it down, do a complete backup, then pop a new disk in. At that point, the file server will rebuild our disk array.
The server will be down Saturday, 4/10 between 8am-5pm. Depending on how long the backup takes and how much problems we run in w/ the disk replacement, the total down time could be short (4-5 hours) or long.
Who will be affected:
1. Anyone who wants to use our login server (kepler)
2. Anyone with a personal home page or anyone serving websites out of their home directory.
3. Anyone using the DECF clusters for computation.

Backups are still running. It should be done in the next 15-30 minutes.

File server is backup. It may be a bit slow until it finishes the rebuilding process.
